Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #115: Larger than Wildlife

#**[LAST WEEK’S THEME: WATERMILL](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/kppo23/minecraft_biweekly_build_challenge_114_watermill/)**

**Great job to many many people this week. Tough competition for all, but very good building! If anyone want to see any builds that *aren’t* mentioned here, click on the link above to see even more fantastic builds!!**

Every now and then we come across a build that just feels alive. This is one of those builds. Over detail is something that we always harp on, but I find this one balances it out right in the sweet spot. The parts with tons of detail are the spots where there should be, in the forest or landscape around it. Then on the mill itself, the details are slightly cut down, making it easier for our eyes to focus. And what a great interior too. It’s rare that we get such a good exterior with such a good interior (usually if both are in the build, one gets overshadowed). In this build, I’m not sure which part I prefer more!

Awesome job!

I audibly said “whoa” when I saw exactly what you built. This is why I love these challenges. Every now and then in a simple challenge like this (building a known smaller structure), someone will come along and make something big that I didn’t expect. This is like a watermill town! And not only that, but the quality of your builds holds up over the entirety of it. Small little tip or piece of advice, on your stone walls (terrain was great by the way!), maybe add some vines to make it a little different? The reason I suggest it is because it’s quick and easy to plop down even 15 or so, and have them grown to fill it out and add colour. With or without them though, great build!

A much simpler build than second place, and closer to the type of build 1st place was going for. However, still very well built. First off, the structure is very nice. I’m personally a big fan of using bone blocks, and I think you used them very well in this build. The interior was also very nice. I liked the more open concept and really enjoyed how it didn’t feel bare. I sometimes find with larger rooms, they feel empty. This one did not at all, and I loved looking around seeing the details. Finally, I really liked the terraforming around your river. Was nice to see variation and also looked fantastic!

Good job!

**Honourable mentions**

It’s a normal day in the world, all is nice and normal, and then you see it.

Marching next to a building, just as big, is a… cat?

This week we’re going to have a pretty weird challenge where we’ll be making mobs/creatures/animals as big as the city itself they are built in. Whether they are peaceful or killing machines, that is up to you!

Happy building!
